This heart came to us through a donation from Kilcoole Community Thrift Shop. As an object, this is rather clunky and something I would never chose to wear myself. However, being a heart, on the 14th of February I uploaded this image to twitter, not he JUNK: rubbish to gold twitter page to celebrate Valentines day. Only a few hours later I received a distressed phone call from my granddad. Rushing down to him, I proceeded to spend the next week by his side, along with my dad, as his health rapidly declined. He passed away just under a week. Now when I look at this photo, of this clunky heart, it reminds me of that time. (from Laura)
